The main thing to note for this update is the closure of the intersection of Irish Street and Depot Street which began back on April 12th and will continue until complete in the next couple weeks. Another highlight is that light poles are being installed and you can expect that, when the sun goes down, Depot Street will be a well lit thoroughfare for access to your favorite places at any time of day! See below for pictures of the new lighting.
Depot Street between Loretta Street and Cutler Street: This block will remain closed while crews continue to work on pouring concrete to install sidewalks, driveways, gutter bands, and parking stalls on this block in preparation for asphalt pouring.
Depot Street between Cutler Street and Irish Street: Currently open to local traffic while our crews begin concrete work in this block. Sidewalks and curbs are being installed as well as the planter boxes for future landscaping. The Federal Courthouse and the Post Office will remain accessible from Cutler Street. Please proceed with caution around the fenced off areas.
Depot Street at the Irish Street Intersection: This intersection will remain closed while crews continue to pour concrete and finishing in the intersection. Once this intersection is completely ready for the next phase, pouring asphalt, our crews will switch to the other side of the block and close down the intersection at Cutler Street to get that ready for asphalt pouring also.
Depot Street between Irish Street and Main Street: Remains closed as crews continue to lay pavers. Check out these updated pictures of the sidewalk and tabletop pavers that have been installed in the center of the block:
Here's what our brand new lighting will look like on Depot Street (Use the arrows to scroll through):
Depot Street between Main Street and College Street: Will remain accessible to local traffic but closed to through traffic. The intersection of College Street and Depot Street is open. Please use caution while accessing this area.
