We hope you're having a great start to 2023. Our crews have been chugging away despite the weather and you'll be seeing noticeable changes to the surface level of a couple blocks. Check out the videos and images below for a peak. The biggest change going on right now is that our storm water crew has finished their work on Depot Street between Loretta Street and Cutler Street and has moved to the opposite end of the project to Academy Street. You'll see on the map below these changes along with a description of what's going on in each zone.
Depot Street between Loretta Street and Cutler Street: Crews are continuing installation of electrical systems in this block for about another week, weather permitting. In the mean time, this block will remain closed for safety. The Federal Courthouse and the Post Office will remain accessible from either Irish Street or Cutler Street. The intersection at Cutler Street has been reopened. Here's some footage of our crews finishing up the storm water system installation near Loretta Street that then turns into a great shot of the entire projects work zones:
Depot Street between Cutler Street and Irish Street: Currently open to local traffic while our crews begin concrete work in this block. Sidewalks and curbs are being installed as well as the planter boxes for future landscaping. Please proceed with caution around the fenced off areas.
Depot Street between Irish Street and Main Street: Remains closed as crews continue to pour concrete and prepare for laying pavers. Check out this aerial view of the Festive Tabletop feature coming to life and an expanded view of the entire block:
Depot Street between Main Street and College Street: Will remain accessible to local traffic but closed to through traffic. The intersection of College Street and Depot Street is open. Please use caution while accessing this area.
Half of Academy Street on the College Street side: Our storm water crew has moved to this section to complete installation at this end of the project. Parking on Academy St will remain accessible from Church St.
